The Greater Richmond ARC’s Camp Baker, located in Chesterfield, VA, is seeking qualified applicants for Weekend Respite Counselors.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma required.
- Pass criminal background check.
- Experience providing support/care to disabled individual and have experience leading meaningful activities for individuals and groups.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. Please provide a copy of your driving record with your application.
- CNA certification, CPR/First Aid and medication administration training a plus.
Occupational Therapist (Full Time Exempt)

The Greater Richmond ARC has Full-time openings for Occupational Therapists who provide the agency with direct therapy services, support and education to children and families enrolled in the Specialized Services Program (SSP), using a family centered approach. Provides knowledge and application of knowledge for specific position (OT) for infants and children. Delivers services in the home environment.
Requirements:
- Must be proficient in the skills relative to the area of occupational therapy assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Knowledgeable of latest techniques relative to the area of therapy assigned and ability to maintain a high level of proficiency in that area.
- Computer literate and ability to learn new skills related to current technology.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Requires a Master’s degree or greater, License to practice in the State of VA, and at least one year of professional experience providing therapy to children. Early Intervention Professional certification, through the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, strongly encouraged prior to hire.

Director of Program and Consumer Services
Full time exempt position available at our Saunders Avenue location in Richmond, VA.
Due to the growth of programs and services provided to persons with disabilities, the Greater Richmond ARC is seeking highly qualified applicants for this new position.
Duties:
Provides management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of Program and Consumer Services which supports our Developmental Services’ programs. This includes: consumer management, program development, program performance evaluation, and regulatory compliance for all Developmental Services including Day Support, Camp, and Specialized Services. Facilitates a high level of customer service and constituent satisfaction.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of disabilities-related fields.
- Ability to implement, monitor and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective team-building and leadership skills.
- Thorough understanding of funding mechanisms and regulatory requirements for each Developmental Services Program and the associated regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of budget and goals/objectives/priorities development.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication, and computer skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with community, managers, families and direct service staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred) in developmental disabilities related field. A combination of education/experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
- Supervisory/management experience required, preferably in the development and delivery of programs and services to developmentally disabled individuals of all ages

Cook
Part time position available working Saturday 7am – 6pm and Sunday 7am – 2pm at Camp Baker in Chesterfield, VA.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Supervise community service workers
- Prepare meals for up to 50 individuals
Requirements:
- Safe Serve certified
- Knowledge of health standards and menu modification
- Experience managing meal prep. for large groups
Client Counselors
Part time positions available Monday - Friday at After School (2-6pm) in Richmond, VA. Please provide a copy of your driving record with your application.
Client Counselors provide supervision and leadership to persons with disabilities. The responsibilities, not all inclusive, are:
- Provide personal care and create a safe, fun, and learning-focused environment for clients.
- Complete accurately all necessary client-related paperwork (monthly and incident reports, individual and group logs, etc.).
- Participate with program director in ISP meetings.
- Accompany assigned participants on group activities and outings.
- Provide backup support and assistance to peers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and according to job description.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience of at least one year as a care provider, educator or aide for individuals (adults or children) with disabilities.
- CNA certification, therapeutic recreation or special education background desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce reports.
- A good driving record (MUST) and be willing to transport clients in agency vehicles.
Speech-Language Pathologist (Part Time)
The Greater Richmond ARC provides a variety of innovative services and programs that span the lifecycle and assist people with developmental disabilities to live happy, successful and meaningful lives. We are looking for Speech Language Pathologists to join our team in our Specialized Services Program (SSP)!
You will:
- Provide direct speech therapy services, support and education to children and families enrolled in the ICDS Program.
- Use a family-centered approach to speech therapy.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in the specialty of pediatric speech language pathology.
- Must have knowledge of the latest techniques relative to this specialty area of therapy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one (1) year of clinical professional experience.
- Master's degree or greater in Speech Language Pathology.
- Must have Virginia state licensure and Certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
- First Aid and CPR certification is also required (offered by The ARC).
- Need to have reliable transportation and be insurable or insured.
