The Greater Richmond ARC offers Adult Day Support & After School Services at both our 3600 Saunders Avenue location (north Richmond) and our Camp Baker location (Chesterfield County). Both programs support students and adults with developmental disabilities so they can:
- Become more independent while mastering new skills and responsibilities for community living
- Develop friendships and build self-confidence during training, therapeutic recreation, social and prevocational activities
- Make choices and decisions that are based on individual preferences, strengths and needs
Adult Day Support
Adult day support is offered each weekday for adults who require a high degree of staff support. Training focuses on:
- Daily living, socialization, leisure, recreation, volunteering and pre-vocational skills when in the community
- Working with staff to reinforce individual strengths in the community or at the center
- Assistance with personal care needs
After School Services and Summer Day Camp
A daily, structured and staff-intensive program is offered for school-aged students (through age 21) with developmental disabilities. Participants engage in age-appropriate community and facility activities and receive homework assistance.
